That's the same thing that happened to me! I was driving along a desolate road at night, and the owl was sitting in a tree next to the road. I disturbed the owl with my headlights and it tried to fly faster than the vehicle, but it went *smack* against the windshield. I slowed down to assist, but then I thought 'what do I do with a broken owl?' So, I drove on.
