My assumptionthat your bills were late isn't anything to do with your method of payment, simply that utility companies tend not to harass people for payment until the bills are overdue. Also, your points do seem pretty reasonable. The only other thing I forgot to mention was the additional protection afforded to you by the consumer credit act if you buy things on a credit card (although I personally would only do so if I had the money to pay the bill immediately)

Itappears that they also harrass you if they think you're not paying by the means that they would prefer you to as well, or haven't bought enough of their services.
I'm still not entirely sure how they got my telephone number to be honest, but hey ho.
