Letters they'll never read

There may be a problem with this
Due to stock management systems, the smallest amount that can be put onto a price is 1p* - which would bring it up to the .00 you're hankering for. However, that 1p would accrue tax - meaning it was actually 1.175p - which would be rounded up to 2p, due to the aforementioned stock systems, bringing your .00 up to .01. So instead of having 1p to carry around, you'd have - in the best-case scenario - a 50p, two 20ps, a 5p, and two 2ps.
*I have no idea if this is actually true. It might be, which is good enough for me.
EDIT: I have a perfect solution! If you're happy to pay an extra penny in order to not have to carry a penny around, simply *leave the penny they give you on the counter*. You're a penny down, but no penny to carry - and the till-monkey has doubled their wage (probably). Everyone wins.

Isn't it strange how it's always 99p
They manage to set that perfectly easily… There's no technological restriction here, M&S made the change to round prices a while ago and it was a resounding success.
