... do girls do it? i don't speak from a position of strength, since i've cocked up a number of relationships in my 30s and 40s ... albeit all the ones i was serious about were either married, on the other side of the planet or developed commitment issues after a couple of years ... BUT you do *try* ... try to stay financially independent, try to be buddies and talk, try to listen to her issues and let her know yours, try to open up and allow access to the dark and fetid parts of your soul ("look, those are the worst bits, don't run away") and even try to get to grips with her sexual peccadilloes ("I like whispering improvised porn stories while you're having a wank dear but i may need to go and spend a week or two in a cottage so i can write some new material...")

AND? still some girls go out with psychopaths ... whyyyyyyyy? enlighten me ...

Its a long story...
will make it short.
Met on holiday, visited here and I went over there. I was in love. Got married to speed up his move over here. Didn't last long.
He was an excellent liar and hid his many faults until we were wed. Or, he was so deluded that he couldn't see his behaviour was wrong in any way. I'm still not sure.
First and hopefully only truly mad bastard I will ever be with, after always being fairly lucky in my choice of nice men!
