This is a question Pathological Liars

Friz writes, "I recently busted my mate who claimed to have 'supported the Kaiser Chiefs in 2001' by gently mentioning that they weren't even called that back then."

Some people seem to lead complete fantasy lives with lies stacked on lies stacked on more lies. Tell us about the ones you've met.

BTW, if any of you want to admit to making up all your QOTW stories, now would be a good time to do it.

Bruce Lee
This did the rounds at my school and we soaked it up,
"Bruce Lee had a one inch punch, he could floor you with it."

which became,
"Bruce Lee had a one inch punch, he could kill you with it."

Which progressed to,
"Bruce Lee didn't need to punch you, he would punch the air so hard the air would hit you and floor you.

eventually,
"Bruce Lee just had to think about punching you and your head would explode."

I know martial arts folk, me...
...and no, I'm not lying - tried to once or twice, but keeping that kind of thing going is just too much effort for me :)

But anyway, I've mentioned before that my folks teach martial arts and have for years (Stepdad-Karate, Mum-Karate & more recently Tai Chi, though she teaches CDT in a high school these days too so she hasn't as much time for it), and both of them can handle themselves as a result. Thankfully, because my Mum is so nice to people and my Stepdad is so obviously hard, they've very very rarely been called upon to demonstrate it in a realistic setting.

My Stepdad is especially dedicated and highly skilled though, on the quiet, but he doesn't like Bruce Lee or rather doesn't respect him as a martial artist - thinks he's a paper dragon - an actor before a martial artist. His eldest son by his first wife idolises Lee, but he doesn't show his chagrin where I can see it lol. So as my token effort at staying on-topic, it could be said that Bruce Lee was a bit of a bullshitter.

That said and the validity of the point aside, Lee was skilled - I've seen demos of the one-inch-punch for example and it can pack some, well, punch. My Stepdad can do it too, though I've not seen that particular move from him myself. My mum has though, along with some of her high school pupils when he instructed a PE lesson that my mum was covering a few years ago. I think I popped the story in one of my posts somewhere. And he likes the movies, of course - can't be denied that the fight scenes are genius in some of them lol.

EDIT: I know I'm posting during official saddo hours, but I fell asleep on the sofa and I can't sleep now. Flew back from visiting mates in France this (yesterday?) morning but I had to get up at 4:30 to get to Paris for my flight. No, I'm still not lying. Look, I can show you my fucking boarding card if you like, alright? ;)
