This is a question My Collection

Do you have display cabinets full of stuff? With it all neatly labelled, cross-referenced and entered into a database. Have you been to a convention? Do other collectors look up to you in awe?

I thought I was above this one. I'm not that autistically geeky that I have a Collection with a capital C. But no, I remembered I'm hoarding away every version of "Inside Macintosh" ever published.

What do you collect? And why? I mean, what makes you do it?

Erm...
When I was knee high to a really big mutant grasshopper, I somehow began to amass a varied assortment of badges. These were collected from numerous school outings to museums, cathedrals and other such boring places that felt the need to imprint their logo on a shiny piece of metal that excitable youngsters could proudly display to the world and boast of their travels to the further reaches of Llandrindod Wells and the Cosford Air Museum.

Quite how I found these appealing is a mystery, but I still have a large tub full of them and by jove am I glad! So many happy memories riffling through: a Green Cross Code badge; a Wimpys badge, He Man, Blue Peter, Rolf's Cartoon Club, Bingo's Bottle Bank... the list goes on. Ok so I may have got teased at the time, but how many of them have a Clarks shoes badge they can wear with pride at the school reunion??

Oh yeah.. one time I bought the very first single by a band called 'A' purely because in an interview they said the song was about how old people get up at 5 in the morning to prepare vegetables for dinner. I got the 2nd single, then the 3rd. Then they started to get big. And I went off them. But for some unknown reason I couldn't stop buying their CDs. I now have 18 'A' CDs and 3 vinyl which I will never listen to. Great.
