Neighbours
I used to live next door to a pair of elderly naturists, only finding out about their hobby when they bade me a cheerful, saggy 'Hello' while I was 25 feet up a ladder repairing the chimney. Luckily, a bush broke my fall, but the memory of a fat, naked man in an ill-fitting wig will live with me forever.

A neighbour across the road - 30yrs+ with learning difficulties -
used to play country and western in the middle of the night.
So I would ring him. He would turn off his music to answer the phone. When the volume went down I'd hang up. He would forget he was listening to music*, so it stayed quiet - at least for a few nights.
He never figured out the 1471 thing.
He was a very pleasant lad - just not at all bright. Eventually the Council bought out his tenancy, something like £30,000 to go away. He got so much as he had inherited the tenancy from his mother. Suddenly two brothers no-one even knew existed turned up 'to look after him'.
No doubt he was penniless, bereft and homeless within months.
*liberties taken with the consensus meaning.
