This is a bit reverse-angle on the whole not-getting-the-job ideaIn about 1998 I interviewed five candidates for a software development job. One was top class, three were so-so and one was a complete twat. I made my recommendation of Mr Top Class to HR and went off on my summer hols. On my return I discovered that my boss (who had not been present at the interviews) had trumped my recommendation and given the job to Mr Twat, who turned out to be even more of a tosser than I had expected, and became a thorn in my side for the next three years.
