Actually, we don't.I rarely encounter English people around here, and that particular hotel is not near the airport or anything else that would attract people from other parts of the globe, or so I'd think. How this guy managed to pinpoint her accent is beyond me.
The expression on her face was priceless, though. She looked somewhat hurt as she said to me "I didn't think it was that bad!"
