This is a question Advice from Old People

Sometimes, just sometimes, old people say something worth listening to. Ok, so it's like picking the needle out of a whole haystack of mis-remembered war stories, but those gems should be celebrated.

Tell us something worthwhile an old-type person has told you.

Note, we're leaving the definition of old up to you, you smooth-skinned youngsters.

Another one from my dear old dad
"Never take acid!"

Strangely, the only time I ever remember this is when I'm a shapeless, giggling lump on the ground.

Is your dad Brian Wilson?
I think taking LSD as a teenager did me the world of good, personally.

Although this doesn't hold true for all.

Agreed
Third eye squeegeed, as Bill says.

Acid did me good, too.
The first few times it made me very depressed as I realised that I was fucking up my life and that I didn't have any real friends to speak of as I'd pushed them all away.

The most recent time, it was a fucking great laugh. I ended up lying in the middle of the road in a remote southern French village at 3 in the morning looking up in the stars and giggling to no-one in particular.

You see, I did sort my life out. I'm exceedingly glad I did take it, in a way.
