My very first rugby lesson at secondary schoolI'd never played rugby, never seen rugby, knew nothing about rugby. For the first and last time I got the ball and the opportunity to score what was apparently called a "try".
Legging it down the field with the ball, I crossed the try line and triumphantly hurled the ball down to the floor and did an over the top American football style celebratory dance.
No one had told me I had to be holding the ball when it hit the ground for a try and I got a severe mocking.
Fucking cunts. My classmates were just as bad.

This ^^I had the exact same experience during one of my first rugby lessons. The teacher went ballistic but the schadenfreudig monging from my classmates was a sight worse.
