DunnoHe didn't bring the dog in with him, so I doubt it.
I did ask a guy I know who was in the Met what might explain such a lacklustre search, and he reckoned that they were probably quite aware it was a false address and couldn't be bothered doing things properly.
Apparently it's quite common to spend the early morning going around several addresses looking for someone, and find that there's absolutely no trace at any of them, and they're all just false addresses.
