I recognise this.
In my experience, the members of our sales force who complain the most about our (the administration team's) level of service are the ones going round to the customers making ridiculous promises and giving out wrong information in the hope of getting a sale. When we can't give them what they've been promised suddenly it's our fault.

Strangely, the people in sales who understand the product and give realistic information to customers find that we're actually pretty good at our jobs...
