Public Transport Trauma
Completely Underwhelmed writes, "I was on a bus the other day when a man got on wearing shorts, over what looked like greeny grey leggings. Then the stench hit me. The 'leggings' were a mass of open wounds, crusted with greenish solidified pus that flaked off in bits as he moved."
What's the worst public transport experience you've ever had?

I don't understand Oyster cards
and they scare me slightly.
When I used to live in London you could simply buy a travelcard - can't you do that any more?

You can
Scan your oyster card on the machine/give it to the ever-friendly London Underground staff. Choose your travelcard. Give money. Receive updated oyster card.
You keep it once your travelcard has expired, and then use it again to renew.

I never use an oyster card
don't own one, never intend to. I buy travel cards if I'm gonna be travelling about otherwise I buy a direct ticket.
Dunno why, but there's something about Oyster cards that I just hate.

But don't put it through the washing machine
As i've managed to three times now.
Oyster's cheaper than travelcards, so I prefer them

I don't mind so much about the cost
as I rarely use public transport if I can avoid it. Then again, I live on the outskirts and only use the city for concerts and shit, as I don't like it there.
