I made the mistake...of extending my arm, like one might do to hail a taxi. I was quite drunk and my vision subsequently impaired. I figured that if I tried to flag down every vehicle, sooner or later one would be a taxi. Turns out a car full of youths objected to me doing this and got out and kicked seven shades of shit out of me. So in the end I didn't need a taxi... my house was right next to the hospital.
