Not my grandparents, but my mother.I am a first generation Filipina born in the US. When I was a senior in high school, my boyfriend was African American and I had a friend who was Caucasian. My mother took ill, was admitted to the hospital and very nearly died. She was quite adamant that my boyfriend was not welcome to visit her in the hospital, but my Caucasian friend was. She made it quite clear that it was because he was African-American. My mom is kinda crazy, crazy . . .
