When I was over thereI worked with someone who would say 'Murrays' instead of 'Maoris' whenever he partook in his casual racism, so that if anyone pulled him up on it, he could lie and say he was talking about his neighbours. Apparently he lived nextdoor to a family who were an angry lot that used to eat white men for dinner.
