Rubbish TownsI once went to Basildon. It was closed, I got chased by a bunch of knuckle-dragged yobs until I was lost in a maze of concrete alleyways and got food poisoning off pie. Tell us about the awful places you've visited or have your home.

My wife helped put together an open studio exhibition thereI asked some old guy if I was going the right way for such-and-such street, he started pointing in the direction I was going then reappraised me and said in a Jamaican accent "White boy.. you don't wanna go that way..." then proceeded to give me a ten minute detour round the safe way. (Course I totally ignored him... we're all going to die some time).
Also it's where the Burberry factory is and it must be in a few Japanese guide books judging by the numbers of confused (and scared) Orientals you see there at weekends.
