I once went to Basildon. It was closed, I got chased by a bunch of knuckle-dragged yobs until I was lost in a maze of concrete alleyways and got food poisoning off pie. Tell us about the awful places you've visited or have your home.

You forgot the fact it's an utter arse to get in and out of
Bury is king of the 'spoke and hub' travel model, where you have to go into Manchester to get anywhere else by public transport.
Even by road it's a bit of a pain in the arse.
