I once went to Basildon. It was closed, I got chased by a bunch of knuckle-dragged yobs until I was lost in a maze of concrete alleyways and got food poisoning off pie. Tell us about the awful places you've visited or have your home.

Bits of cardiff are actually quite nice
Plus there's the countryside nearby.

Could be a lot worse, and you're complaining about 8 hours overtime a day?!

Went to Uni in Cardiff
Absolutely loved it, have been back a few times since and it's still great.

You can stick Swansea, mind.

The uni is fucking fantastic
Especially the fully equipped nightclub and pub. I visited there about 14 years ago and it was pretty impressive then, anyway.
