This is a question Rubbish Towns

I once went to Basildon. It was closed, I got chased by a bunch of knuckle-dragged yobs until I was lost in a maze of concrete alleyways and got food poisoning off pie. Tell us about the awful places you've visited or have your home.

Thanks to SpankyHanky for the suggestion

A couple of nominations
Stanley, Co Durham - the standout feature is a bowling alley on top of an Asda, and the locals totally ignore traffic signals (or any other law on the statute book).

Dunstable - I had lunch in a pub there and realised the draught was coming from a bullet hole in the nearest window.

I live near Swindon, so I feel qualified to comment.

Stanley
I live on Consett a few miles away from Stanley. Now Consett is a fairly rough & ready place but Stanley... oh dear... to quote Jimmy Carr - "it's like a holding pen for Jeremy Kyle".

Fact.

But there are some nice places
'near' Swindon.

Stanley!
I forgot about Stanley. Maybe it's a self protection thing.

My mates and I were bricked by some local kids as we rode through on our pushies.

I hope those little cnuts still live there.

The first time...
... I went to stanley was soul-shattering. Being just 16, I was the perfect demographic for some cunt to have a go at me for having a look behind me on the bus. Right shit tip it is.

asda
Ps. Apparently Tesco have bought the Asda store. Stanley is really moving up in the world!
