Rubbish Towns
I once went to Basildon. It was closed, I got chased by a bunch of knuckle-dragged yobs until I was lost in a maze of concrete alleyways and got food poisoning off pie. Tell us about the awful places you've visited or have your home.
Thanks to SpankyHanky for the suggestion

Nottingham
I grew up in Basford, where I saw my fair share of nutters, such as seeing some bloke at 4pm on a weekday being chased by some lads with bats.
Still, there are nice parts too, Woolaton Hall, Nottingham Castle, The Trip, The Bell.
I wouldn't live anywhere else.

St. Anne's
I visited a friend of a friend there a few times.
The first time I went, I didn't realise it was a red light area, until I saw the signs warning off potential kerb-crawlers.
