I speak near fluent French and I make this mistake all the timerecently in a hotel reception where it turned out they didnt have a double room for m'ladyfriend and I, I exclaimed, thinking I was dead nice, "not to worry, (ne vous inquietez pas) we'll push them together (nous les pousserons ensemble) so as we can (afin de) shag (se coucher ensemble).
Took me a minute to figure out why the receptionist balked.
