Amazing displays of ignorance
Sandettie Light Vessel Automatic tells us: "My dad's friend told us there's no such thing as gravity - it's just the weight of air holding us down". Tell us of times you've been floored by abject stupidity. "Whenever I read the Daily Express" is not a valid answer.

Could have been worse.
I used to work at a Renaissance Faire over here in NY. For those who've never been to such a thing, everyone pretends to be from 1600s England in order to sell overpriced crap to people. There are some interesting bits, like traditional art and music, but most of it's an excuse to sell crap.
The US has one more step in putting on such a show than the UK, that being we need to acquire accents of some sort. It never failed to make me laugh that everyone in the tristate area thought that every person in Victorian England, including the King/Queen and nobility, spoke with a Cockney accent. Counting myself, you might here two others in the whole thing not speaking like a Cockney on any given day.
