Catman - Now with added video
I'm originally from a place called Greenock, it's a small former shipbuilding town and key port during World War II, on the west coast of Scotland, about 20 miles west of Glasgow.

Notable former residents, sons, etc, of this once proud hive of industry include Richard Wilson (Victor Meldrew), Jay Leno's mum, and most famously - James Watt. The Lockerbie bomber also resides in Greenock's prison.

And there's also Catman. He's called Catman because he eats rats, apparently. There's various stories about where he comes from and who he is. One such story I believe is he's a former Russian sailor who got left behind or fled Russia or summat, another simply that he's not mentally sound and probably been living rough too long that there's not much help for him.

It's been filmed by a ned on his camera phone - a cousin of the chav, but with their own distinctive brand of style and violence.

I've just found the first video at work, and have no sound on my PC, so no idea what it says, but I have seen the YouTube before and that's really how a ned sounds

Ah, the Catman
I am also from that neck of the woods...The filthy Port, to be precise, thankfully i escaped its cancerous fug many many years ago.

I saw the catman vid a few years ago and was transfixed and horrified in equal parts. I had to do some research...

I was unfortunate to stay 'up the gibby' for a few years and in this time i came across many different levels of scum and evil degenerates. One of the gibby's more colourful characters was a chap called, 'Catman'.

Catman could regularly be seen shuttling barrowloads of scrap and assorted junk up and down the big steep hill that leads up to the gibby from the main road. The rumour was he was dumb, and i never actually heard him speak, only push the barrow, in ALL weathers.

So, i rechecked the video, but because he was so filthy i couldn't make out if he was the same catman, but there is a definite resemblance. Plus the fact that the catman 'lives' in the same area the catman of yesteryear used to collect his scrap, then it is more than a possibility that it is the same guy.

Very weird, but only what i expect from greenock. The fucking hellhole.
