of course, if the walls were damp, that "ectoplasm" could have been a strain of mould, or even the wallpaper paste bleeding through.

I've seen a few weird things in my life, but nothing that I genuinely believe was neither booze-realted, some sort of hallucination/optical illusion or otherwise explainable...despite really wanting to see aliens/monsters/ghosts.
