Dr. S's story reminded me
I used to work in Chester at an old office (1960's affair I think, possibly older). There used to be 2 building connected by a walkway, the building where I worked was newer than the adjoining building and all was ok in there but the canteen and smoke room was in the other, older, building.

The other building was a lot older and reminded me of an old school or hospital, most of it was closed down or disused and just the 2nd floor was in use...was very creepy wandering around there on your own..

A couple of years later I was chatting to a security guard about it and he said there was an old engineer who had hanged himself in the building and was seen wandering around it from time to time.

Another story from the same building was a girl who got in a lift with another girl and went to her floor, but when she got there the other girl was gone, and this girl wasn't given to flights of fancy either...

Very weird building, was right next door to the archaeological dig as well...
