A nan trio
I was probably around 5 or 6 and had been tucked up in bed when suddenly I heard my nan's voice talking to me as if she was standing in the same room as me, but it was slightly echoy.

This may be down to the fact that she lived, and indeed was at the time, over 100 miles away.

I don't recall exactly what she said, but I know she said my granddad was there and then I remember hearing his voice.

I asked them about it when I next saw her, and my granddad said I must have dreamed it but my nan just gave me a sly wink.

I know I was not asleep in the traditional sense, and it felt so completely real, her voice was so soothing and I felt so loved and warm in that instance and the memory of it has stayed with me for 17 years.

She was a very religious woman and she did used to pray every night, in my mind I like to think she directed that one to me instead and probably just filled in what she imagined my granddad would have said to me.

------

After she died my granddad remarried within the year, as I was still young (around 10 I think) and my parents had divorced I didn't attend the wedding and was unaware of when it was. I was at school and suddenly felt really cold as if I had walked into a freezer and then it passed within a few seconds. I mentioned it to my dad when I next saw him and it turns out that was when the vows were being exchanged. Coincidence or angry spirit nan!

-----

Lastly I was driving home after dropping a friend off in Stow. I was driving back along the Fosse Way in the dark and slightly icy roads when my phone started to ring, as it was around 2am I worried slightly that it may be something important and on seeing that there was conveniently a lay-by ahead pulled over. I looked at my phone and it had no record of anyone trying to call me, thinking maybe I had mistaken the radio for my phone I went to pull off when I recieved a text message saying I had voicemail, calling up voicemail there was no message - and no creepy noises - just cut off after about a second as if someone had hung up. Confused and tired I thought no more of it and carried on. Roughly 5 mins up the road a car had spun and hit a tree, pulling over and checking the guy was ok (he was just a little shaken)he said how he had come round the corner in the opposite direction to the one I was going in, hit some black ice and went straight across the road into the tree.

Sure if I hadn't of pulled over I may have missed him, but my days of watching the x-files has planted that seed in my imagination that I received a call from someone watching over me....

Yeah I am sure people can think up "mundane" explanations for the above, but I am choosing to believe that she is still out there looking out for me. Thanks Nan, you rock.
