Life Changing Moment...
Not funny I'm afraid, just a story about how I descended into hippy-ness.

I was always rather sceptical about things paranormal. Probably because most of these 'haunted houses' are making a packet by opening themselves to the public for 'spooky evenings' and the like.

However, one day a mate of mine took me to see this place en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plas_Teg
He's a friend of the owner and, by strange coincidence, my parents nearly bought the place back in the 80s (they changed their mind when they found out how much it would cost to make the place habitable again)

So, I was given a bit of a guided tour. The house is well-known locally as being haunted, so I was being extra sceptical - I didn't want to 'hear' or 'feel' things just because I was subconsciously expecting there to be something, if you know what I mean.

All was quiet until we reached this one bedroom. The very second I stepped into the room I felt bad. I felt cold inside and really light-headed. The only way I can describe it is that it's like that feeling you have when you've had a couple of drinks - you're not drunk but you feel a bit 'floaty'. Difference was, this time it didn't feel in any way pleasant, I felt very very uncomfortable. After a minute or two, I decided that I wasn't having a good time, so I stepped back out onto the landing. The second I did, everything stopped and I felt totally normal again.

Only afterwards did I find out that it was in that very room that someone died several hundred years ago after a fight to the death.

I suppose, the moral of the story is, don't sit at home watching TV, reading the internets and forming opinions based on other people's experiences. Get out and find out for yourself. I'm a very different person as a result of that afternoon, I still think in a scientific way, but I'm much more open to the idea of there being thing out there we just don't know about yet...
