it was a dark and stormy night...
actually it was quite an ok night. Anyway, I was in my room at uni, it was 1am and I was watching some TV. All of a sudden my bed started to vibrate violently as if there was someone - or something - underneath making my bed, perhaps trying to make me leave the safety of the duvet so it could eat me...

Fortunately it turned out to be a mild earthquake

In the last few months?
Same thing happened to my housemate. Only she didn't make the earthquake connection and didn't see the rest of the room vibrating - so thought her bed was vibrating like in The Exorcist. She then stayed awake until I got up at 7 and came into my room with haunted eyes saying she was sure the devil was trying to send her a message. I had to Google the earthquake to set her fears at rest...
