This is untrue -you can't take it too the North Pole 'cause it will fall off the edge of the World. You can take a boat to the South Pole but you have to stay in Mawson's hut (where Santa goes on holiday when it's not Christmas) otherwise you could destabilise the whole Van Allen Belt.
Apparently shape has something to do with it too. Now if you'll excuse me I'm taking my disc for a sail on the river. Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast.
