I can't speak for everyone.I take so little time off sick (probably one day a year, tops) that that argument has never really worked as far as I'm concerned.
Either way, there's no one to do my job when I'm not doing it; whether I'm not doing it because I'm ill, smoking, or just because I'm very lazy indeed.
