I think they're doctors
or at least one of them is / was. They probably wouldn't be very well suited to the position of Caretaker either though.

the whole 'Holly & jessica' thing may have been the perfect smoke-screen the school needed to sack their incompetent caretaker without worry of legal reprisals for wrongful dismissal.
