Decades of my assumptions regarding the use of pavements were recently overturned.I simply hadn't been aware of the agreement to share them between pedestrians and the 4x4's of school-run mothers - though the subject has been clarified to me recently.

You forgot....That as part of sub-section B of this agreement, it is fine for all cyclists to ride on the footpath, regardless of age.

A cyclist deliberately steered towards meon the pavement in lanark a fortnight ago as I was texting someone on my phone. I tried to move along the pavement as I saw him, but he deliberately steered towards me and said "careful" menacingly at me as he passed.
I'll be sure to steer for him as well if I ever meet him in my car.
