There is an OK bar
Called The Elbow Room, which is basically late night bar/club but with a massive balcony with US pool tables on it, pay by the hour. it isn't usually crowded, light-to-medium chav load and the booze is cheap. It had a high proportion of attractive ladies there last time I visited. But that may have been the fact that I was not so much wearing beer goggles as a beer welding mask..

i have vague memories of the dry dock
last time i was there. not sure if its gonna be rammed full of students at this time of year though...
