I'm pretty sure my graphics card is just emo at times.
No problems with L4D, no problems with Fallout 3 but try playing the poker dice game on Witcher or a few levels in Portal and it'll cut itself.

and update your graphics card drivers
game developers are wankers, they write code that uses the latest driver features and don't bother checking if the driver is installed

I updated them earlier but it didn't seem to do anything.
I'll just have to run it with the case open, on the lowest resolution possible, with the least amount of graphics possible and not enjoy it at all.
