Most kit cars are bolt-together, that's the point.
Unless you want to do something exotic with the exhaust system.

Urgh, it's based on a Beetle!
Still, it's just another in the vein of the Bricklin or the Saab Sonnet III or the Opel GT. There's loads of cars out there like that without being built on such an utterly gash platform.
