I wouldn't mind having a go in an R8
but I've grown out of sports cars. And it's the constant twiddling and fixing of older stuff that appeals to me, while understanding that the need to never do that on a new car is why other people like them. But they all go wrong eventually, new or old. New stuff is machined to such a high level of delicacy that a grain of sand in the wrong place can fuck it up, whereas old cars will run on vaseline and piss if you can find a way of getting it into the tank.
