Yeah, but, how much *potential* credit do you have available, if you were to max everything out?
Don't give me a figure, I want you to compare that total to your monthly income. A lot of people with "good credit" fall foul of this.
Ever notice your card providers putting up credit limits (unless you tell them not to first)? That hurts you, but isn't reflected in your "score". It doesn't matter if you use the credit - its mere existence for potential use is what counts here.
If you have spare, mostly unused cards, ditch them.
I say this because it got me years ago, and took a while to work out what was scuppering my plans for world domination. I have since ditched all credit facilities.
