Is it because of easter, or is it the fine weather...
or is this just the most unpopular compo ever - there are only three pages of entries.
I can't remember a time in the last few years where so few images were entered into the compo.....
ps I only write this here cos I'm rissing on the pic....

I love this phrase as it makes no sense but perfect sense
Today my son and I decided that Jesus was a zombie who re-animated and that if Jesus was to rise again, it would be the start of the apocalypse.

Do you think Jesus would be a lumbering zombie or high speed, a la 28 weeks later?

Oh don't get the '28-days later was a virus not zombies' crowd started
I always get them lot telling me that there is a big difference like Zombies are real and compariable with virus infected un-dead humans.

Yeh, that was in the back of my mind as I typed it
But I hoped my "a la" might be the disclaimer I needed to avoid some sweaty fist o'fury keyboard mashing action sent in my direction ;)

infection/zombies/pandemic is a bigger problem than worrying if 28 days were zombies in the true sense
So of course I over looked it.
RIGHT I am full of burger and chips so now I'm off to the garden to smoke a big fat doooobie.

As far as I'm concerned if the only thing that can stop them is either a well aimed cricket bat
or a bullet to the head and they are chasing you to eat your brains then they are Zombies... or Jehovah's Witnesses.

It does seem to be quite unpopular. The compos are losing steam.

It depends on the challenge,
rather than compos in general losing steam, I think.
I think a good contest needs to be specific enough to focus your mind on its subject, but broad enough to be able to approach it from several different angles.
For example, ones about movies usually do well because there are so many movies to apply the more specific rules of the competition to.
However, this one seems too limited in subject (the fat), and the rules (make someone useful) are too vague to really be able to easily grab an angle on.

right, on each point
it was movies remade with animals that drew me to participating on b3ta.
i think the way the comp's are chosen should be looked at, because there must be some great submissions in there somewhere, we just don't really see them come through

someone on links found a funny site
that had 19 unusable stock shot pictures and the idea was that you could only use these pics but you could shop them in any way.
Limited in source material but endless in possibilities. I thought it would be a good way to compare the inner workings of b3tans' minds.

people seem to tolerate it though and they sometimes say nice things too.
it is true though, there are some very encouraging and friendly people, there's also people who are just dicks.
i wouldn't worry about it, just make sure you don't make the obvious mistakes like posting links/other people's work, etc and you'll be fine.

I have found it a little hypocritical that people are more offended by fatism than anything else being aired
here on /board and I side with /talk on this issue.
Ironic humour is great as long as you are able to laugh at yourself, but it seems the issue of fat people has shown that when it hits close to home, it hurts.
