It's so true it's funny
edit: You need to be able to see what it is at 280 pixels wide so a bit of shifting is needed. Pretend you were looking at Mininova on a mobile phone.

They just call them 'discs' I think. So they could be DVDs or harddrives. Either way, they were unencrypted, accessible to a 'junior official' (apparently, since it is a 'junior official' who is being blamed for having done this) and sent by unrecorded delivery. Password protected, so they say, but personally I'm assuming the password is 'Password'....

the 280px rule means "make it readable at 280px" not just resize it - the fp images should be enjoyed without clicking. sorry!

I don't know why the fuck they were using bloody CD's, in this age of DVD, Blu-Ray, and super high-speed downloads.

Front page well deserved. I was thinking while watching the news earlier, how long will it be before this happens... frankly, it's what I'd do if I found the disks!

I can't help thinking that if I wanted to really fuck the ID card plans over, I would make good and sure that the stupidest person working for HM govt. put some very sensitive data on some CDs and then got them lost. Cue outrage, resignations, pompous posturing and wemustmakesurethisNEVERHAPPENSAGAIN triteness...and also a really, REALLY good argument for not introducing ID cards, that everyone can grasp. I really hope that someone out there is clever enough to have planned this, because if it was just stupidity, well, that would be a bit depressing, wouldn't it?
