# **deep breath**
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooo ho ho hooo!

But make sure he whistles the theme from Airwolf whilst flying it.

# I got confused.
I now see why I had that tab open!

# What's your price range, if you don't mind me asking
My father in law is into his RC airplanes and helicopters and could probably recommend one.
(, Sat 29 Nov 2008, 11:12, archived)
# Not really sure.
Jim wants it to be about £12, but I'd be willing to pay more for significant improvements up to about £50, I suppose.

I think that too tiny would be an error, since he is old and I have read that old people see badly.

# If it's not urgent to get this weekend I'll ask him when he's back monday
and pm you any suggestions.
(, Sat 29 Nov 2008, 11:18, archived)
# That would be good.
I have been looking here as well:

www.savebuckets.co.uk/search/?search=remote+controlled+helicopter&sortby=price&si=1300936

It's a beginners machine, as it is his first, but I think more 'low-level RC heli' and less ' bit of fun'.

# I have one of those Picooz helis
and for the price they are a good bit of fun but with limited manoeuvrability.

For a REALLY good indoor beginners heli with lots of scope there really is only 1 choice worth making but may be outside your budget and it's this...

# Out of my price range, sadly.
I have been specifically advised against the PicooZ by Al_
(, Sat 29 Nov 2008, 11:26, archived)
# Why?
It depends what you want from it.

If you want to experience a bit of fun it's a very cheap intro and I play with it regularly.

If you want to experience more authentic flying trust me the Blade is THE helicopter to get for indoor flying.

You will not be disappointed.
(, Sat 29 Nov 2008, 11:31, archived)
# Obviously you didn't read his original post.
(, Sat 29 Nov 2008, 11:34, archived)
# In the long run
If his father in law is going to take it seriously the Blade is a brilliant investment.

I fly Helis and nothing touches it at beginners level or the price.

You will end up buying something cheaper, being disappointed and ending up spending more money in the long run.

Like I said, for a bit of fun a picooz is a laugh - for serious beginners flying it has to be the Blade.
(, Sat 29 Nov 2008, 11:41, archived)
# It is too much.
If I am not spending that much, what do you recommend, get the cheapest PicooZ?
(, Sat 29 Nov 2008, 11:42, archived)
# For a bit of fun the Picooz is fine
but remember, it's manoueuvrability is limited

have a look at this for an idea - not my video

# Go on then, which PicooZ?
(, Sat 29 Nov 2008, 12:07, archived)
# To give him a feel
(, Sat 29 Nov 2008, 12:27, archived)
# Yes, I would definitely get spare rear rotors
He may break a few to start with but will soon pick it up.

# Last question then:
2 channel or three channel?
(, Sat 29 Nov 2008, 12:42, archived)
# 3 channel will give better control forwards
(, Sat 29 Nov 2008, 12:50, archived)
# Ah!
But it is a gift for my father-in-law, so I am less incliuned to extend my budget.

How about this?
