iv. Units have nothing to do with how many people want to share a pizza.
v. Having spent my formative years computationally modelling and balancing Sea King rotor systems I can assure you I can still divide a circle into five equal parts to within ±3° by eye, so ten is not a problem.

...the point is it all divvies up into 'nice' numbers that you can achieve with balancing scales instead of trusting someone else's weights. And you can factor Time into it as well.

I cant remember the last time I saw anyone weighing stuff to sell with weights. The butcher is about the only place I get asked how much I want by weight these days
