At the end of the day
Taken from a single episode of The Jeremy Kyle Show. This family seem rather too fond of the saying 'at the end of the day'.

This is perfection
I can't bear that phrase, as far as I'm concerned it negates your point completely.

it's a generalisation
it doesn't negate anything. But I agree that it's a completely stupid phrase.

My reasoning is..0
people who use this phrase are brain dead and as such any thing they say is going to be drivel copied, without thought, from what ever font of crap they subscribe to.
It's most popular with footballers

Hmmmm
I agree 100%, no, 110%, no, 150%, no, 200%, actually I agree 100 million% (yes Mr S Cowell I am talking about you and your acolytes) with that statement.
Yes, that is correct, I agree more than wholly with what has been said: two or three times more than completely, so there!
Dear god, save our language from itself.

At the End of the day
They are passed out on their couch with a warm can of Special Brew dripping sowly onto their dog-shit stained carpet.

I find the word 'ultimately'
is better. I remember an episode of grumpy old men where Arthur Smith defended the use of swearing saying that it didn't necessarily show a lack of vocabulary, but instead phrases such as 'end of the day', 'basically', 'you know' and 'like' were much worse.

People who dot conversations with
"and then they turned around and said" also make me want to buy a rife and find a clocktower.
