This is a normal post The last one is actually pretty funny

I took them all off the site, trolling or not, they're on there.

Most of them are bitter old ladies.

This is a normal post Second comment was bang on
I couldn't believe how rude people were at Niagara.

Also you genuinely can't see anything at the base of Christ the Redeemer. You're far better off seeing it from a way away.

This is a normal post The view around is pretty damned good -
and I even enjoyed the funicular back down too.

This is a normal post It reminds me of that Guy de Maupassant who hated the Eiffel Tower so much he would dine there everyday
Just because it was the only place in Paris he couldn't see it.

This is a normal post ha
I remember reading 1 star reviews when I went there. Think there's one that's something like "why bother when you can just look at it in a photo"

This is a normal post I've come across travellers who buy "Lonely Planet" to get an idea of what to avoid.
I can only imagine that their idea of travelling involves going to stay in Mexican council estates, watching Mexican daytime TV, and eating food bought at the Mexican equivalent of FarmFoods, on the basis that that's the "real" Mexico, and taking a perverse pride in the fact that they were only a short drive from Teotihuacan but didn't go there.

This is a normal post A mate of mine has a photo of a tea house in Nepal
with a big sign outside that proclaims "We are not recommended by Lonely Planet"

This is a normal post This is why sites like IMDB are now almost totally pointless for the reviews...
...I mean 1 star for this: www.imdb.com/title/tt0111161/reviews?filter=hate

This is a normal post I thought it was overrated myself.
Competently made, with some good acting but not a masterpiece. 3-4/5 stars maybe, but not a masterpiece.

Clearly the answer is to give it 1 star and write a review that makes me sound like a foaming loon.
(, Thu 16 Apr 2015, 13:40, , Reply)
This is a normal post If you ignore the star rating and look at the looney reviews...
...you get comments like 'worse film ever'...etc and not all of these people are trolling. One guy gave it 1 star and then at the end of his review added 2/10...obviously conflicted.

The Cuckoo Stone, which is one of the rocks in the region of Stonehenge gets the Excellent review "Great for a stone".

This is a normal post To be fair, the Statue of Liberty is a bit crap.
Slightly more than half of its claimed height (305'1") is in fact the fucking huge plinth (154'), which is all you'll see from the ground. And every movie portrayal of it makes it out to be much, much bigger than it really is.

There's the much nicer and less bullshitted-about Colosso di San Carlos Borromeo in Arona, just north of Milan, which for a start doesn't cheat by holding a torch over its head, nor do they assume you're a terrorist and make you book in for an anal probe months in advance to climb up the inside of it:

This is a normal post Barbar's Adagio for strings...
You could have warned us.
You know, like

"Trigger warning:
This video contains heart-rending music reminiscent of the ashes of a hundred million murdered people blowing across the forever lifeless desert of a burned world."

I'm off for a cup of tea and a sit down.
