This is a question Not-stalgia

Willenium tugs our sleeve and says: Tell us why the past was a bit shit. You may wish to use witty anecdotes reflecting your own personal experience.

Plenty of TV shows from my youth are still pretty good:
The Clangers, Bagpuss, SuperTed, and so on. I have particularly fond memories of Trap Door, which would interrupt Get Fresh on a Saturday morning. Tragically, my brother saw fit to buy the DVD and give it to the kids - it is impossible to remain pleasantly disposed to anything, when you're exposed to the entirety of it, all at once, again and again and again.
Likewise, Bananaman starts to look pretty shitty by about the third episode (although that may have been deliberate). I could probably watch DangerMouse all day. but that's not been tried, and never will, for fear of ruining it forever.

Apologies, "TV shows of my youth" has been done to death already, but I doubt I'll be the last. Nostalgia's not what it used to be, eh?

I bought The Mysterious Cities Of Gold on DVD a few years ago.
I really enjoyed watching it again and finally got to watch it in its entirety. I enjoyed the Broom Cupboard singalong that was an "extra" also.

Trap Door is still quite good.
I think it would be pretty sinister if not for all the bright colours.

I love Trap Door
Partly for the daft stories, but also for the fun that the animators had inventing all the little squiggly things that bimble about in the background all the time.

The Clangers is still excellent
What you have to remember is a lot of 70s kids TV was made by people clearly out of their heads on massive drugz, so in the clear light of day can look a bit, well, odd.

"In the infinity of space, there are civilisations far more advanced than our own..."
*cut to automatic door, which opens with a buzz, then jams halfway. Clanger gives it a hefty boot, it starts up again*

Episode 1, classic.

True. Also, apparently people all over the world interpreted the Clangers' dialogue in their own languages, some believing their utterances to be profane.
How could it be actual speech, when it was done with a Swanee whistle? Brilliant.

See here:
tonymusings.blogspot.co.uk/2010/02/strange-whistle-language-of-clangers.html (5th paragraph on relates to language).
As I recall, a plushy Clanger was released a few years back that, when squeezed, would say "Oh, sod it! The bloody thing's stuck again."

I'm guessing here, but you don't have kids
My 2 have totally loved the 70s shows that I've let them see. I'm seeing them again, but through their eyes:

Bagpuss
Clangers
Rhubard & Custard
Trap Door
Will-o-the-wisp
Pugwash
Scooby Doo (without scrappy doo, of course)
Pink Panther
Road runner

Ren & Stimpy is always good for a laugh.

For my part I've grown to love Charlie & Lola, Spongebob & Almost Naked Animals

For £40 you can get a box set of Monkey! This is simply unavailable on the Internet but I'm hoping it still rocks.

But your mum is still pleasantly disposed to my penis.
