Things that make you feel human?
I find it increasingly difficult to give a fuck about things these days. E.G. this Kony bollocks, tl:dr, but I find myself feeling sad when hearing one of my ex pupils left the school due to family illness. Are you de-sensitized to the world or are you an empathetic hippy?

Interesting that it applies to blokes too. I wondered if it was just some kind of hormonal breastfeeding/no-sleep thing. So I guess I'm stuck being terribly sensitive even once I stop breastfeeding and actually get sleep (if that ever happens). Arse.

This is why I am mightily perturbed by the Santa Claus dilemma.
Do I lie to my child and tell her it's all true? I don't want to be dishonest with my own child (and I have a massive inability to lie - it freaks me out). Or do fabricate a lovely, fluffy world of fluffy Christmas loveliness which can be cruelly shattered at a later stage?

Butternut squash, potato and chilli soup
Top, tail and halve the squash, before removing seeds, whilst also putting new potatoes on to boil
Pour over some oil, salt & pepper, add anything you think might work with it, I used garlic, cumin & a bay leaf.
Roast until soft, remove from skin and add to pan of already softened onions & peppers, followed by the potatoes.
Allow this to all cook together, add the chilli, blitz it up, then season to taste.
Done. Keeps very well too.

Sounds good.
A small dollop of coconut milk might be good in that, too.

Aye, very much so
It'll also be a way of making it a little milder if you go OTT with the chilli

Use another fish then, genius.
Sardines would be nice. Chunks of lemon in the tray too.
