Well if no one has any further questions for Vippers
And it seems that he has returned to his fabulous new life without us, I declare the limp beginnings of an evening thread.
To start you off, what would you like to see the return of?
Or are some things best left in the past?

Not sure yet.
Will be a last minute decision and as I've spent a fair amount on train and hotel, it should be favourable.

Two games left and they are just outside of the relegation zone, 5 points clear of Coventry and Portsmouth, so either a win or two draws will do, or for Portsmouth and Coventry to lose their next game.

I wouldn't say it's been a shit season, but I think we should have done better
Granted, we've had some shitty luck, and things go against us this season. We lost the player who (at the time) was the best in our team, and our season just nosedived.
Either way, I've now fortunately passed into the part where I find everything funny, rather than getting annoyed at it.

The obvious example here is the Newcastle game
They played better than us, no question. However, we were unlucky that the referee missed an obvious handball, and James Perch decided to throw himself to the floor.
That ponytail wearing prick didn't help us at all though, there was no fucking need for that dive, none at all.

Kenny wasn't good enough when he managed Newcastle.
He had luck on his side in his first season and finished well, but that was down to the team Keegan had assembled. Which he proceeded to dismantle the next near and they dallied with relegation despite reaching the FA cup final. In which they were dreadful.
And he's a miserable twisty faced sourpuss.

I justify it to myself by pointing out we paid less than £7 million a year for him if he sees out his contract. It's delusional, I know, but it stops me from going foetal.

I honestly think that Pardew had nowt to do with it.
Ashley and Lambias saw the opportunity for an inflated return on a virtually untested player and took it. Neither Carroll or Pardew had any say in the matter at all. A mate of Carroll's was on the local radio just after it happened and was reading out texts from him, and he patently did not want to go.

Plus, contracts are not worth the spunk they'e written in.
case in point: Carroll, who had just signed a four or five year contract. I'm also fully expecting Krul and Tiote to go in the summer for the same reason.

I can't see Krul going
Ashley seems to be learning (very fucking slowly) to back off. I can't imagine Pardew letting Krul leave. I don't think he'll have a choice with Tiote though, clubs are looking outside England for players atm, as soon as they look inside the Premiership, a lot of players will move, with Dempsey and Tiote being two of them, I think.

I suspect you might be right about Tiote.
I wouldn't mind him going if Krul stayed AND Newcastle managed to pick up a decent replacement for Tiote. Which they may manage if they get into Europe.

He's an odd one, certainly
He's had some good moments, he was very good at times in the second half the other day. But we aren't a team that builds around a single striker. We need someone who is absolutely deadly in the last 10 yards of the pitch.

No. I was sat amongst a group of people who just abused Maynard all night.
Whilst I was amused at the 'Your son's Bristolian' (after Maynard left for the Hammers, he did an interview where he said he didn't want his son growing up with a West Country twang), I have absolutely no problem with him leaving for more money and more chance of Prem footy.

If you were an editor, be it image, or video, then a Mac would make perfect sense.
However, if you aren't the creative type, and you're buying Mac only because of the name attached to it, there are better laptops out there for cheaper.

But they are very hard to come by. It'd have to be sleek as fuck and cool. But then they're expensive as it is and I think it might be worth a few hundred more to get a Mac for how much smugger I'd be about it.
