That thread was a heap of shit-bollocks. I'm ashamed of you all.
Food revelations: what are your most recent culinary discoveries/developments - what's your latest 'thing'?

I have two:
1. Chilli salt: it's about a quid from oriental supermarkets, and is fucking brilliant on almost everything APART FROM ICE CREAM LOL!!!! I cannot get enough of it.
2. Mint: Following an increased interest in Vietnamese food I have come to understand that I have been criminally under-using this splendid herb and have been caning the tits off it accordingly

Alt: shit piss cunt bollocks
Altalt: recommend a book, film or album which I can abuse you roundly for so doing.

AltAlt: a book: Watching The English by Katie Foxx

Oh aye?
I'm currently reading Churchill's Wizards by Nicholas Rankin, and Njal's Saga by no-one is quite sure.

EDIT having Googled your suggestion I thjink I might well enjoy that. Ever read Jeremy Paxman's 'The English'? As an academic work it is faultless, every single thing he asserts is supported with evidence, but as such it reads ever so slightly like someone's dissertation. That said, that is a miniscule gripe about an extremely readable and highly amusing book.

I am reading Skagboys by Irvine Welsh, it's the prequel to Trainspotting and is really poor.
I am reading a lot less now I drive to work instead of getting the train, which is frustrating.

I have no time for Irvine Welsh.
Or indeed any other Welsh (apart from Shakin Stevens, obv.).

EDIT and Dave Edmunds

'Filth' is his best work.

I've read that Paxman book
I find him very entertaining.
Just been enjoying his interview with Chloe Smith from last night: www.youtube.com/watch?v=bddWaHuxTzc&feature=youtube_gdata_player
It's almost too easy for him.

I'm not one for boxed sets or endless tedious series or eastenders in space, or all of preceding
but I got the boxed set for the HBO/BBC Rome with much cheapness from Ebay on this very day

I've taken out a Netflix subscription for £6 a month, (using it through Apple TV) there is a very good selection of box sets (the film selection isn't that good tbh).
