(, Mon 20 Oct 2014, 16:09, Reply)
but what is it? I don't understand

(, Mon 20 Oct 2014, 16:15, Reply)
It's half. a. flat. A half flat. One flat, halved. A semiflat.

(, Mon 20 Oct 2014, 16:30, Reply)
it's very boring
i live in a west london mansion block. many years ago, they were 5 bedroom apartments, with 3 room servant's quarters*. so my flat and the one next door were originally one giant flat. this is why the internet refers to it as a "half flat".

* the people who own the whole flat underneath me are an italian count and his wife. they still have the original lay-out, including all the bells for servants etc, and it is genuinely fantastic, interesting to see how it all worked.
(, Mon 20 Oct 2014, 16:15, Reply)
